Today in Literacy we have been writing poems for NZ writing. These poems will be sent to our partner school in Hamilton. Here is my poem.
I saw the ground beneath me
I remember the airless, floating feeling
My brother beside me was terrified
I’m leaping out onto the clouds
We are flying to our paradise
Jellyfish die in the blue sky
The poems had to be six-line poems that have to have six words in each line. The first line was something you saw, the second was something you remember, the third was a person you were with, the fifth was something you imagined and the sixth could be anything.
What would you write about?
See you next time!
See you next time!
I really am interested in the poem Daisy. I love the imagery and the difference between yours and Jacks feelings about it. Poor old jellyfish! Keep going with your poems. frances won Junior School poetry competition. It must be in our blood? Love Granny x x
